An
interactive performance event with inflatables was shown on the campus of the
university.
A students’ idea that emerges in the
course ART IN FLIGHT at the UCM. It was a tank full of jellyfish where the
public could enter. Numerous jellyfish were made that we would later float with
helium. The tank: a 15-foot cube on each side. All was built in lightweight
material. Plastic heat-sealed and textured. From the outside, the audience
would see some silhouettes and could imagine what was happening inside, but
only by entering the tank would they discover the power of the art work.
Weather changes:
What could at first be an
interesting and novel event on campus, became much more complex thanks to the
insistent participation of the wind.
However, what could have been a
serious difficulty, to such extremes of having to suspend the event, became an
unexpected ally. We decided to relax our previous idea and adapt it to the new
circumstance.
The result was undoubtedly very
intense, with tank and jellyfish in constant movement.
In the images you can see this crazy
adventure.
